trial of an ax

In which it is determined that an ax fell from the roof onto the head of the plaintiff’s brother, now deceased, and the ax shall now be tried for its accursed part in this death. Determining that the defendant has no claims upon this court beyond the severest punishment, we now proceed to the particulars of sentencing.

It is determined that the ax shall be remanded to the Cholsom penitentiary of this great state of GA, and upon the hour of the governor’s choosing, shall be dismantled — the head from the body — and the body shall be chopped into as many small sections as can be managed from the swing of an ax; and then each of these pieces shall be cast into the furnace, of whose fire burns so fiercely true.

Then the blade, the offending head of the instrument, shall be dispensed to the maritime border of this great state of GA, and there just beyond, plunked into the deep, forever, never to offend again.
